Photograph article dated July 6, 1961 partially reads, "Vicki Draves, double gold medal winner in the 1948 Olympics and now a swimming and diving instructor in Encino, says, 'I don't like to swim or dive in a pool when I'm alone.' Mrs. Draves paused between her teaching and taking care of three children to give some safe swimming and diving hints to Valley swimmers. 'It may sound funny coming from someone who has been swimming and diving for 20 years, but I don't think anyone - no matter how expert - should swim or dive when there's no one around. 'I don't like to swim or dive when I'm alone because you can never tell when something might happen,' she said." Mrs. Draves shows son David cross-chest carry for use on Jeffrey.
