Description
Featured in exhibit with label, "Letter to Editor Mercury-Herald. From the Pianto Brothers & Co. Italia Hotel December 30, 1923." On Italian Hotel and Grill letterhead (109 San Augustine Street, San Jose). The letter complains that the Mercury-Herald has incorrectly included The Italia Hotel in their list of places closed under the Prohibition Law. The hotel is in fact open to the public and the proprietors ask that this be corrected in the next issue.
