Description
A girl and a dance and a good time are the service man's first thoughts when he has a few hours off duty and comes to town. To meet the plea, the U.S.O. has a roster of hundreds of junior hostesses, carefully selected and well-chaperoned, on call for dances, private parties and dates for victory. Thousands of service men visiting here in transit to other training centers or enroute to battlefronts, have found Los Angeles a hospitable town through the work of the U.S.O. Here a group of sailors and soldiers at the Santa Monica U.S.O. center on June 23, 1942, await their chance to take the dance floor with hostesses.
