All sorts of rumors concerning the whereabouts of the hands swept town after they disappeared several days ago...All guesses were quelled, however, when Fred Weddington, owner of the market building, stated the clock was being repaired. Weddington ordered the clock overhauled after its four faces disagreed with one another and blared out four different answers concerning the time of day."
