Regimental orderly book of the 8th Massachusetts Regiment, written by Francis Tuft, adjutant, containing general, brigade, regimental, and garrison orders, proceedings of courts martial, etc. Forms part of the collection of Orderly books of the American revolution. The 8th Massachusetts regiment was created on Nov. 1, 1776 and served until it was disbanded on June 12, 1783. The regiment was commanded by Colonel Michael Jackson an was attached to Ebenezer Learned Brigade, 4th Massachusetts Brigade, and 2nd Massachusetts Brigade.
