Description
Note: "Nzi Mofen, des Königs Schwager. (Wuhrmann, A., 1917. Beschreibung zu den Lichtbildern aus Bamum. E-30-0,6).
Note translation: Nzi Mofen, a brother-in-law of the King. The number of the royal sisters is very considerable - there are about 40 of them. The chief as head of the family is responsible for their well-being. He has unrestricted rights to dispose of his daughters - and the same applies to his sisters. He gives them to men whom he chooses specially, and he watches to see that the royal princesses remain with the men to whom they have been assigned. Nzi Mofen, a handsome and still young man lives like an aristocrat on a large estate. He possesses many slaves and, alongside about 30 wives one of the most beautiful sisters of the King belongs to him. Sadly she is not as good as she is beautiful. She causes her lord husband and her royal brother a lot of trouble with her all-too-strongly developed lust for unrestricted freedom. (A. Wuhrmann, 1917, Commentaries on Slides from Bamum, E-30-0,6. K 335).
