Two boys stand in front of a mural being painted on the side of the Echo Food Market, located on the corner of Echo Park Avenue and Duane Street. Behind them, a few youngsters are seen filling in some sections of the artwork. Theresa Powers painted the 30' x 18' acrylic mural with neighborhood youth in memory of a neighborhood friend killed in a gang conflict. The mural was dedicated at a block party held on August 23, 1997. The finished product showed a man holding a child and read: "Will we still go back to being the same way?" It has since been removed. Photograph dated July 12, 1997.
