Description
Title from Ingalls’ original envelope. Further notes by Ingalls on envelope say: "Author of Paiute legends, good cattleman, farmer. Temperance orator - does not gamble, drink whiskey, smoke tob. Photo taken 1912, with G.W. Ingalls." This image published in "Wovoka and the Ghost Dance" by Michael Hittmann (1990); location and date are cited as: "Baptist Church Temperance Society Meeting, Mason, Nevada, 1919." Note that Ingalls dates the image as 1912.
