Description
Fossil scallop shells (pecten) in the Topanga stratum, Miocene epoch, in the Santa Monica Mountains. Seen along the roadway 1 mile east of summit of Saddle Peak at the head of the Las Flores Canyon watershed. Road construction exposes these fossils.
