Description
Photograph caption dated November 13, 1958 reads "Supervisor Warren M. Dorn sets up ball for comedian Bob Hope to open County's Knollwood Golf Course at 12024 Balboa Blvd., Granada Hills today (Nov. 10) for public play. Dorn said lease-option agreement for 18-hole championship course saves valuable recreation land from subdivision as well as fulfilling need for more public courses in San Fernando Valley. Course is being operated by County Parks and Recreation Department on seven-day basis and revenues will make it self-sustaining, Dorn said." See image 00155223 for additional photo in this series.
