Fred Grayson Sayre (1879-1939) was known for his paintings of the desert landscape, the setting that had helped him overcome a serious illness in the mid-1910s. At the time of his death, Sayre was painting "Point Happy," a work depicting the Coachella Valley. His studio was located at 1150 1/2 N. Louise in Glendale.
