View of a large wood-clad Victorian building with a broad staircase with balustrade leading up to the 1st floor; 3 floors plus basement and attic rooms; brick chimney at left of building; covered porch on 1st floor with a pediment above entryway; railings on every floor enclose porches on 1st & 2nd floor;to the right is a wing that has been added and built back from the original; double columns support the porches at regular intervals; triangular roof tops the building and small trees have been planed on the sidewalk in front.
Walter Hepting was born in Sacramento (father was from Switzerland, mother from Germany). Worked for the State Treasurer's Office. Was amateur historian, collected old photographs and images of Sacramento.
"Old 'Sisters Hospital' (Catholic) this building was erected in 1896 and torn down about 1925."
