Description
Planché writes from 5 Bennett Street, St. James's, Westminster, to Mr. Edward Walford about various theatre related matters. Written on Planché's personal stationary blazoned with his crest, a demi-lion rampant guardant holding between the paws a roundel argent charged with a cross gules. The crest indicates Planché's office of Rouge Croix Pursuivant of Arms in Ordinary, a junior officer of arms of the College of Arms in London. Planché was appointed to the office in 1854 and held it until 1866.
