B. Inoue, of Sumitomo Rubber Industries, Ltd., writes Mr. K. Hopper saying that he received his letter of April 22nd. Inoue responds to one of Hopper's questions by saying that Inoue, Mr. Kato, and several other attendants lectured on the contents of the CCS (Civil Communications Section) seminar to top executives of manufacturing companies all over Japan about the importance of Statistical Quality Control (SQC). He adds that because the importance of quality control was recognized all over Japan, it resulted in one of the motives to invite Dr. Juran and Dr. Deming. Inoue goes on to say that it might be a correct estimate to say that the CCS seminar was one of the starting motive powers of SQC activity in Japan. In the postscript, Inoue says that he is enclosing his personal history and photograph. The letter contains Inoue's signature. The letter also contains an original handwritten "24" on the top, right corner and markings.
