Photograph caption dated December 14, 1955 reads, "The heavily sprayed Christmas tree displayed in the window of Southland Casuals, 16920 Ventura Blvd., Encino, is causing much comment. The tree is hung upside down from the ceiling. Owner of the women's apparel shop is Marie Reynolds, who has another Southland Casuals shop in Reseda."
