Description
View of men loading lumber into the flume at the Jude Creek Mill. In 1911 the Red Bluff lumber mill of Sierra Lumber Company then The Diamond Match Company was abandoned and torn down. The Champion Mill operated for another year and then it too was torn down. In 1914 when A. E. Engebretsen opened his mill he arranged with Diamond Match to use the flume to ship lumber from his Judd Creek Mill to Red Bluff. This only continued for a few months until a large section of the High Trestle west of Finley Lake collapsed. The section was not rebuilt, Judd Creek Mill was closed, and this was the end of logging in this area until 1952. Judd Creek flows into the Northern Antelope Creek west of Lyonsville.
