Photograph caption dated January 16, 1956 reads, "Monkey tree thrives - Hix Ratliff, retired electrician, leaning on grass trimmer, stands beside 50-foot-tall Araucaria Bidwillii, 'monkey tree,' he planted 15 years ago on North Maclay avenue. Nurseryman has offered same type of trees to City of San Fernando for planting in park."
