Description
Photograph of the intersection of Washington Street and 1st Avenue in Phoenix, Arizona, looking NE, [s.d.]. The intersection stands in the foreground, with the Fleming Building (the four-story building) at left, and the Monihan Building (the three-story one) at right, next to a line of store-fronts. In the background, at center, the Adams Hotel can be seen with a wooden sleeping porch. The city stretches behind these structures, and the mountains can be seen beneath a cloudy sky in the extreme background.
The Adams Hotel was brick, but had a wooden sleeping porch. The hotel burned down ca. 1910.
