Annotation translation: "from Rev. Giess."
Annotation: "v. Miss Giess."
Identity of photographer questionable.
Note: "[...] hinten: 4 Verwalt. Beamte, Schulinspektor u. Freund d. Präfekten
rechts: Frau Zimmer, Walter-Schelling, Rosa Giess u. ihre Mutter
links: Miss. Schmied, Zimmer, Dr Schoch, Giess u. Präfekt von Kayintschu." (A-30-0,3). - Photograph war vermutlich Georg Ernst Walter, denn er ist als einziger der Ehemänner nicht auf dem Bild. (MS 04.1998). Wenn Walter der Photograph war, muss Giess der Besitzer oder Überbringer des Photos gewesen sein. (DS 01.2001).
Note translation: " [...] behind four civil servants, an inspector of schools and a friend of the Prefect's
on the right Mrs Zimmer, Walter-Schelling, Rosa Giess and her mother
on the left the missionaries Schmied and Zimmer, Dr Schoch, Giess and the Prefect from Kayintschu." (A-30-0,3). - The photographer was probably Georg Ernst Walter, since he is the only husband not in the picture. (MS 04.1998). If Walter was the photographer, Giess must have been the owner or the person who brought the picture to Basel. (DS 01.2001).
