On back: "Ferry Boat 'Oakland' runs between San Francisco & Oakland - crossing the bay which is here 7 mile wide. The hill on the left is Mare or Goat Island fortified with a fort. The elevation is 340 ft. Dr. Winfield G. Scott C.E. property of Leonard W. Scott, San Jose, 1889."
