Description
A "river" made by an angry sea on February 24, 1949, covers Hermosa Avenue in Redondo Beach. Destructive waves pounded over the seawall onto rooftops and flood waters poured inland to create scenes like this. A bus causes undulating waves as it passes autos stalled by the rising waters.
