Photograph caption dated March 3, 1961 reads, "James Warner, 17, 4625 White Oak Ave., Encino, received the victor's trophy of Wednesday night's 20th District American Legion Oratorical Contest from Emery Potter, Valley Times TODAY purchasing agent. James will pit his speech on the United States Constitution against other district winners in the Sixth American Legion Area competition Sunday, 2 p.m., at Hollywood Post 43 Legion Clubhouse, 2035 N. Highland Ave., Hollywood."
