Description
Photograph of a view of Whittier Boulevard at its intersection with Belvedere Street, 1924. Early automobiles make their way up and down the paved street which bisects the image while it diminishes into the horizon. No lines are visible on the macadam. Just back from the road's edge, one-story commercial buildings can be seen running the strip behind the two files of utility poles that flank either side of the street. In the left foreground, a sign for one advertises "Shell Gasoline", and another "Garage". To the right, farther in the center of the image, "Robbins" can be made out on the broad side of one of the buildings.
