Title supplied by cataloger. The structure was originally used by Samson Tire and Rubber Company as an industrial office and manufacturing plant founded by Adolf Schleicher in 1918. Between the years 1929 and 1930, the building was re-built as a walled Babylonian (or Assyrian) city; modeled after famous ziggurats and fortified walls of the ancient city of Khorsabad. Priest-Kings and other creatures adorn the walls. The Citadel Outlets, L.A.'s first factory outlet center, opened in 1990. A grand re-opening took place in 2005, at which time it was home to approximately 85 brand-name outlet stores. Architects: Morgan, Walls and Clements. Exterior view of "The Citadel," a shopping complex located at 5675 Telegraph Road in the City of Commerce. A banner advertising a "Job Fair May 9" hangs above the entrance in the center of the image. Flags have been placed at certain points of the building to attract attention.
