Description
Photograph of the main barracks at Fort Tejon, California, 1914. A chickenwire fence in front with its gate open shows minor signs of disrepair, as does the longhouse of the barracks themselves, although to a lesser degree only the windows and the brick exterior are evidently unkempt. A smaller, craftsman-style structure is visible in the far background at right, also unkempt. A large tree obscures some of the barracks at the center of the frame, while still more branches dangle in from the left across the trunk of a second tree. A heavily-shrubbed hill covers most of the background.
