Photograph was edited for publication purposes Photograph article dated November 18, 1950 partially reads, "Tall tales of the wild and wooly West are the memories today of 73-year-old William H. Howard who visits a son frequently in San Fernando Valley. Born in a log cabin on Otter Creek, near Randolph, Utah, the lanky one-time cattle and sheep man remembers when bad men of the West shot the daylights out of saloons and rode their horses right into them 'just for the hell of it.' The son of pioneer parents who walked the plains with teams to find new homes in the West, Howard recalls the cattle and sheep wars that shook the Old West." Photograph caption reads, "Together in Valley - Two sons of veteran Utah sheep man meet in Valley. Harvey E. Howard, of Northridge; his father, William H. Howard who walked the plains to Vernal, Utah, and William C. Howard, of Oakland."; See image #00137107 for additional photo in this series.
