Rose Slaferman came to Los Angeles in 1923 from the Ukraine, via New York and Philadelphia. She opened "Mom Candy Store", located on Ramona Blvd. in East Los Angeles. The family lived in the back; the curtain shown here separates the business from the living quarters.
