Title supplied by cataloger. Exterior view of one of the large estates located in the Hollywood neighborhood of Outpost Estates. This Spanish style community is one of the first 1920s Hollywood luxury residential neighborhoods, which has not changed much since the time it was developed. The name "Outpost" was coined by General Harrison Gray Otis, who had owned an early adobe in the area (see images 00072981, 00072982 and 00070902). The photograph appears to have been taken from a neighboring estate, as suggested by the window panes clearly captured in the print.
