Description
"The water filled swimming pool furnishes a clue to the fact that this $1 million motel, first of two being built in the Sacramento area by Holiday Inns of America, is nearly ready to open ... The 152 unit motel occupies a four acre site at 1900 Canterbury Lane, across the North Sacramento Freeway from the Hotel El Dorado. Construction work, by Allen Brothers & O'Hara, Inc., of Ontario, San Bernardino County, began last May. An identical motel is being built for Pacific Motels, Inc., holder of the franchise for the Holiday Inns group, by the same construction firm at 47th Avenue and the South Sacramento freeway. The architect for this motel, and the one still to come, was William W. Bond, Jr., of Memphis, Tenn. ..."
