Photograph of the interior view of a mine (named Bagdad Mine?) belonging to the Rochester Gold Mining Co., Ludlow (in the Mojave Desert, on the 125 feet level), California, ca.1900. Four miners pause from their digging in the rock-strewn cave. Eight large logs placed at various locations to support the ceiling of the cave in order to prevent collapsing of the cave. A man stands next to a cart that runs on rails. The tracks of the rails are littered with rocks. A ladder and a few pieces of wood are lying on the floor to the left.
