Description
Photograph of the exterior view of the Cameron residence on the east side of Santa Rosa Avenue north of Mariposa Street in Altadena, ca.1910. The Mission Revival style building is about two stories tall, and wo dormer windows protrude from the inclined roof. The roof has Spanish-style tiles and extended eaves. To the right is a Spanish-style gable with multi-curved parapets and a cant window. At left is a Spanish-style gable facing the façade. The gable has a multicurved parapet and a balcony. A flight of stairs leads from the sidewalk to two other flights of stairs, which eventually leads to the arcade-like porch. Plants and flower bushes decorate the well-manicured lawn. The throngs of a palm tree (at right) are casting a shadow on the lawn. The building later became the headquarters of the Theosophical Society.
