Description
E. Duke Vincent discusses his novel, “Mafia Summer.” He begins with his personal story of growing up in the Hell’s Kitchen neighborhood of New York. He talks about how he was connected to prominent members of the Italian mafia, and how he did errands and jobs for them. Martinson asks Vincent to read a few paragraphs of his book about a young Jewish teenager who helped Vincent turn his life around. Vincent tells about how he got out of the mafia life, went to college, joined the Navy, and eventually became vice president of the Aaron Spelling Production Company. Finally, he discusses gang retaliation and what went on during the weekends at The Copacabana nightclub.
