"Der erste Ziegelbrand in Rungwe 1892. Br. Häfner oben, Br. Meyer unten". "First brick burn in Rungwe 1892. Missionary Häfner on top, Missionary Meyer below.") A group of young African men and the two missionaries Johannes Häfner (on the brick kiln) and Theordor Meyer (below him) dismantle the brick kiln to collect the bricks. Imprinted on the image: "Ziegelbrennen in Rungwe" ( "baking of bricks in Rungwe").
