Description
Possible Junior-Senior farewell ceremony. In the quad, women dressed in classical Greek-inspired gowns stand in a semicircle. A crowned woman stands in the center. On the left, right, and center front, three women holding buisines to their lips.
May Day celebration? Or Junior/Senior Farewell? May Day involved children and was in an open field; the farewell was adults (women) only, and judging from images, took place in the quad. From UA: "The May fete, begun in 1900 as an outdoor play festival for youngsters in the kindergarten-primary program. It grew into a popular springtime celebration involving nearly everyone on campus and attracting hundreds of spectators."
Scanned with Microtek Scanmaker 1000XL Pro; as a 600 dpi TIFF image in 8-bit Grayscale. Auto Level image processing applied and compressed into JPG format using Photoshop CS3.
