Description
Retired La Cañada elementary and high school teacher Judith Healey speaks about her teaching career and life in La Cañada with Virtual History intern Adam Kakuk. After moving to La Cañada in 1985, Healey taught at Paradise Canyon Elementary, then at La Cañada High School as a drama and English teacher, before finally teaching at Palm Crest Elementary. An avid hiker, Healey also discusses how the hiking trails around the Crescenta-Cañada Valley have changed over the years. She describes the sense of community and unity that has always been an integral part of La Cañada. Healey also talks about the impact the recent COVID-19 pandemic has had on life in La Cañada and its trail systems.
