Description
Jennings J-1005 voltmeter, with instruction manual. Includes two corona spheres and vacuum voltage dividers. According to the manual, the J-1005 High Voltage Voltmeter is a solid state battery operated instrument intended for use where accurate peak measurements of high voltage are to be made. Full scale readings from 2.5 KV to 100 KV are accommodated in six ranges. Good accuracy is maintained over the frequency range from 10 Hz to 32 MHz. Twin inputs, controlled by a selector switch, allow a variety of balanced and unbalanced voltage measurements to be made. The capacitor voltage dividers employed in the input circuit of the voltmeter minimize loading of the circuit under measurement. Circuitry is provided to allow operation from 115V or 230 V 60 Hz power, as well as from the internal Ni Cad. batteries. A remote kid, available as an accessory, allows the ranging and indicating section of the instrument to be separated from the divider-detector section and located away from the measurement area. It was designed to perform teh following types of voltage measurements: 1. Positive or negative peak ac value of recurrent signals. 2. Positive peak ac value of the vector sum of two recurrent signals. 3. Positive peak ac value of the vector difference of two recurrent signals. 4. Peak to peak measurements. 5. Positive or negative peak of pulse wave trains. 6. Balanced or unbalanced voltages. 7. Output for viewing single ended signal with an oscilloscope.
