Description
This class picture was taken on January 24, 1923, at Marshall School, at 2700 G Street. 1920s Sacramento saw a surge in its population. Taking account for the West Coast's major markets - Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Sacramento - the capital city (48 percent increase) was topped by only Los Angeles in growth (81 percent increase). In kind, Sacramento city schools saw expansion, Marshall with the addition of an assembly hall, classroom, and special study room.
