At left in the background, a small railroad line is visible extending from behind a large mountain cliff. The railroad line can be seen connecting to a large circular loop visible at center. Additional track is also visible beyond the loop in the background. Surrounding the tracks and loop, large glaciers can be seen. In the extreme background, a large mountain range extends from the left to the far right. Caption at the bottom of the image reads: "Alaska is not a country of continual ice and snow as it is generally...".
