Description: View of Avalon Boulevard in Wilmington. Tall palm trees line both sides of the street in this business area. The Don Hotel, a four-story building, is on the right. The area now has a population of 38,000 persons. Most of the citizens in Wilmington are tied economically to the harbor itself. Every ton of cargo means $5 in wages to the community. Photo dated: October 30, 1954.
