Description
Photo shows the not so peaceful "peace strike" staged by a group of students known as the emergency Anti-war Committee, who claimed they'd not been given a voice in the campus peace meeting. They walked across the street and staged the meeting shown, to the accompaniment of heckling and blowing auto horns by other students. Arrow points to Myra Tanner, an agricultural workers organizer, speaking to the crowd. Photo dated: April 27, 1938.
