Photograph caption date stamped May 10, 1958 reads, "Reseda High's Gary Comer hits the tape first to beat his arch rival from San Fernando, Earl Young, partially hidden left, in the celebrated 440 race yesterday in the all-Valley League finals at Van Nuys High. Comer lowered Young's record made last week in the prelims by touring the one lap in 49.2. Van Nuys' Joe Guth, right, is third followed by North Hollywood's Jeff Lombardi. Reseda won all-league meet."
