Mary Pickford was a Canadian-born silent film actress, famously known as "America's sweetheart," co-founder of American Artists film studio, and one of the original founders of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
Mary Pickford is show with, from left, Mrs. Robert Stack and Mrs. Fred Martino at Pickfair. The group may have been planning a membership event for the Mary and Joseph League, an organization that raised funds to build and maintain a retreat center in Palos Verdes for married couples. Photograph dated September 14, 1961.
