Description
The photo caption printed in the Sacramento Bee on June 15, 1966 states: "The Pioneer Memorial Bridge across the Sacramento River is now about 88 per cent complete. The span is scheduled to be ready for use in November. The bridge will link the W-X Streets Freeway, upper right, with the Interstate 80 Highway system siphoning off through traffic from the downtown area. The W-X Streets Freeway will connect with the 29th-30th Streets Freeway."
