Description
Photograph of an aerial view of flooded Arroyo Seco near South Avenue 52, Los Angeles, 1938. In the foreground, a large mountain range can be seen from above. Near the base of the mountain, a small group of homes lined along a narrow road can be seen at center. Running alongside the mountain range and group of homes, a segment of what appears to be a flooded road or railroad can be seen. The stream moves rapidly from right to left and separates a small group of homes from the rest of the city blocks in the background. At center, a section of the stream can be seen overflowing into a group of trees. Large city blocks extend into the extreme background. Photoprint reads: "This photograph is loaned to you. Please return to: Illustrator. L.A. City Planning Dept. Rm.361 F City Hall, Los Angeles, California".
