Photograph of a real estate promotion handbill predicting Los Angeles population growth for 1920, 1911. The handbill consists of two signs with captions and a "lesson" at the bottom. The top sign reads "Population -- Los Angeles 1910 --350,000 W. M. Garland & Co. 214 Wilcox Block". A caption to the right reads "In 1901 Los Angeles laughed at this sign. But we were right". The second sign reads "Population 1920 -- 1,000,000 Grasp the situation W. M. Garland & Co. Real Estate". The caption to the left reads "In 1911 All Los Angeles believes this sign. And it will become true". The writing at the bottom is as follows: "The lesson: Buy Los Angeles Realty. We specialize on high class income and inside property. W. M. Garland & Co., Pacific Electric Building Los Angeles, California". Picture file card reads "ca.1915".
