Description
This huge cable drum is for a gantry crane being built for the Oroville Dam power plant by the Mare Island Division at the San Francisco Naval Shipyard in Vallejo. In the foreground is Earl Trafk, left, state inspector, and Leon H. Bates, vice president and general manager of Yuba Manufacturing Division, Benicia, which farmed out the cable drum project to Mare Island.
