Description
During Peter Drucker’s lecture regarding new demands on the executive he begins by stating that the first person you must manage is yourself. He discusses the importance of understanding how one does their work rather than what their work is. Drucker explains how valuable time is, how important time management is, and the importance of delegating work. He also mentions time wasting tasks such as superfluous meetings and performance appraisals. From there he goes on to discuss building on employees’ strengths, and he uses the comparison of baseball and the coaching skills of Yogi Berra. Later he shares his thoughts on what he feels are the most important preparations for the knowledge worker heading into the upcoming decade.
