"Gaardspladsen Betafo. (Johnsons)" ("Courtyard in Betafo. (Johnsons)"). Betafo is the very first Mission Station in Madagascar for the NMS It was founded by John Engh in 1867. Johannes Johnson was a missionary in Madagascar from 1892-1911 and died in Oslo, Norway in 1916. He married Dagny Liv, maiden name Heidenreich, in Krageroe, Norway on July 4, 1892. Dagny and Johannes Johnson are standing on the gangway together with their three children. A Malagasy woman is holding two of the children.
