'chiefly as a parent.' Today, under Dr. McIntire's direction a 'pioneering project' will be launched at Valley State - the first college-based leadership institute for the deaf in the nation. Financed under a five-year, $380,000 federal grant, the institute will 'prepare administrators from a broad point of view in the problems of deafness.'"
