Photograph was edited for publication purposes Photograph article dated January 4, 1951 partially reads, "A bandit armed with an empty gun made a mistake in robbing a Van Nuys liquor store at 13715 Vanowen St. last night and was shot twice in the legs for his trouble. Store proprietors Mike and Mildred Moroney said the bandit came in and asked for a bottle of whiskey. When Mrs. Maroney [sic] handed over the purchase, the robber pulled out a gun and told the couple to give him all their money."
